"গান, বাজনা, মোতিচুর—এই তিন নিয়ে বিষ্ণুপুর". Bishnupur is well known for its terracotta temples and traditional Baluchari and Swarnachuri sarees. Along with these, the town has a strong connection with music. Bishnupur is the home of the Bishnupur Gharana, which has been an important part of Indian classical music for a long time. Music programmes and festivals held here show how this tradition is still alive today.

Hidden near Bishnupur, the Sareswar and Saileswar Temples are ancient Shiva shrines built by the Malla kings. Though ruined, they reflect Bengal’s temple heritage and come alive during Shivaratri and Gajan festivals.
